#Everyoneisequal

Fifty years ago, we landed on the moon; in the last decade, we discovered new human ancestors and photographed a black hole for the first time.

The world has made unprecedented advances, but no country has achieved gender equality.

Legal restrictions has kept 2.7 billion women from accessing the same choice of jobs as men. Less than 25 per cent of parliamentarians were women as of 2019. One in three women experience gender-based violence, still.

Imagine a world where all people have equal rights and opportunities. Women and girls are not afraid of walking home late at night, and men and boys are not trapped in oppressive masculinities. In this world, gender equality is the norm. Men and women get paid equally for work of equal value and share the care work at home.

Imagine equality in political leadership and corporate boardrooms and factory floors. Women have equal say in decisions that affect their lives, their bodies, their policies, and their environment, from villages to cities.

Join the Generation Equality campaign to accelerate gender equality actions. Mark the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the most visionary agenda for women’s rights and empowerment everywhere.

Seems like a Utopian society. Women fought for and achieved suffrage, maybe the day is not far when women achieve equality in every aspect of life
